Volunteers are a vitally important part of a race. You can’t have a successful race with the expertise of many volunteers. At Topeka to Auburn many volunteers are stationed at various locations along the course providing direction and support for the runners and walkers. We really appreciate all those who continue to volunteer in one way or another to help make the race a success. It takes well over 50 dedicated volunteers to stage a race of this nature and many of those volunteers help with the race year after year. There are many others who may not make for a better race for the competitors, but they help enhance the experience of the event, such as all those putting on the breakfast at the school. For several years we have been able to utilize local high school cross-country teams as well as ladies from Topeka Correctional Facility at the aid stations and will do so again for this years’ race.
