Sunflower Striders Board Meeting Minutes
November 11, 2007

Present: Brad Rhoden, Cheryl Haefele, Kelly Christensen, Marla Rhoden, Norma Weiser, Sharon Wenger, Charles Steinkuehler.
Charles discussed the website and potential change and upgrades.
Newsletter: December newsletter items must be turned in by 11/25.
The annual banquet will be held on February 2, 2008, at Capitol Plaza Hotel. Cheryl and Sharon will coordinate and will talk with Ethel Edwards regarding her being the event emcee. Cost per person will be $22 with the Italian buffet as last year. The honorary strider was chosen, and Brad will take care of notification. Kelly will talk with Willy Lambert at the Great Plains Running Company about having a running apparel fashion show at the banquet. Sharon will contact Glenda Taylor about purchasing an art piece for raffle and Brad will contact Lila Bartel for a painting for raffle.
The Thanksgiving Day Fun Run will be held on 11/22 at the Lake Sherwood Clubhouse at 8 a.m. as in years past with canned food donations to be brought to the run and given to Let’s Help.
Marla will make arrangements for adopting a family with the Christmas Bureau. She will need help with this effort. Monetary donations will be requested.
Brad will purchase some RRC calendars for door prizes at the banquet and giveaways to members (cost $5 each.)

Topeka to Auburn Half Marathon discussion ensued with updates on progress to date. Four registrations have been received. Brad worked with the Mizuno company representative and Willy Lambert of the Great Plains Running Company to obtain many nice items to give away at the race.
