Sunflower Striders Board Meeting Minutes

HyVee Grocery in Lawrence Following Lawrence Half Marathon
Present: Brad and Marla Rhoden, Norma Weiser, Sharon and Bob Wenger, Cheryl Haefele, Jon Enstrom
A list of 13 running events was discussed. Board members decided that because of the increasing number of events where the Club is being asked to time the event and provide results, we would begin asking requesters to provide volunteers for subsequent events in exchange for use of the Club’s clock and timing expertise. If volunteers are not available, we will charge for use of the clock. However, the Board’s preference would be to increase the number of volunteers knowledgeable about timing events, rather than increase revenue.
The Fun Run schedule was discussed.
Brad told us that the Strider singlets would soon be in. Sharon volunteered to check with the Great Plains Running Company regarding the availability of other Strider running clothing, including new jackets.
The Saturday morning group run schedule was discussed regarding placement of water stops. The Board decided to allow runners to make their own arrangements regarding the water stops.
Because the use of the Forum on the Strider’s web site was limited and some found it difficult to use, the Board decided to discontinue the Forum.
The Board decided to appoint Cheryl Haefele to the Vice President Board member position.
Tentative date for the next Board meeting is Sunday, May 13.
